We are looking for two product engineer roles to help us transform re-commerce:
1. Front-end focused Product Engineer
2. Full-stack Product Engineer

These are both full-time roles and include equity in AirRobe as part of the package.

AirRobe

We’re growing here at AirRobe — fast. We’re reinventing “re-commerce” for a sustainable future.

Our plan: To re-build the rails for re-commerce and take over the likes of eBay as the number one second-hand marketplace.

The used-fashion market is expected to be $76b by 2023. AirRobe is accelerating this movement.

Used fashion is a $41b market today, expected to be $76b by 2023. We are cracking this industry with an innovation that removes the biggest friction in trading used goods: the manual listing process. We partner with fashion retailers to let consumers re-sell, rent or recycle used fashion in 1 click. Our approach is a disruptor for second-hand marketplaces. And a complete game changer for how people trade things. The kicker? All this culminates in preventing fashion textiles from ending up in landfill.

There are some huge technical challenges facing the re-commerce space. AirRobe is uniquely positioned to solve them given the structured data we capture from retailers with our solution. Our engineering team will apply predictive analytics and machine learning to solve the biggest problems in peer-to-peer trading sites of today (eBay, Facebook Marketplace) and create a powerful consumer browsing feed.

We have a massive journey ahead of us to take over the likes of eBay as the number one re-commerce marketplace. We are building an all-star founding engineering team to build scalable solutions that our customers love.

The role

We are looking for our next founding team-member to join our top-class engineering team. You’ll join our VP of Engineering (ex Director of Engineering at Red Bubble) and two Lead Engineers (ex-Zendesk, Redbubble, VinoMofo and Marketplacer) in shaping a strong engineering culture that you can be proud of.

You will be responsible for the development and operation of AirRobe’s new platform.

Why join the AirRobe Engineering Team?

We believe a small group of passionate engineers working together can achieve great things. You will have a high-degree of autonomy to investigate, spike, design and implement solutions. You will be able to teach us and learn from us: we give feedback to each other to improve our craft. We are still young and have a lot of foundational work ahead of us so there are plenty of opportunities for you to design/architecture something new. We are responsible with our technology choices but are not afraid to pick the right tool over the familiar one. We move fast and we make mistakes but we structure our system for support and safety.

Position Overview

AirRobe is looking for an experienced Product Engineer who is passionate about creating solutions to re-imagine the re-commerce industry (aka “trading second-hand stuff”).

You’ll be building important features as we scale to service thousands of merchants. At the same time, they’ll be exposed to the business and marketing sides of our product.

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing…

  • Make our flagship Circular Wardrobe product appear magical
  • Work with Product Designer, the Engineering team and the CEO to build beautiful web-app for users of the AirRobe marketplace
  • Build tools and systems to enable seamless integrations with thousands of merchants using variety of platforms
  • Investigate & analyse user behavior to build insights
  • Design, implement, review, deploy, support and measure features to see if it solves user-problems
  • Scale up our stack and continue to build the technical foundations of our business as we grow
  • Share insights and learnings with the team so we are continuously improving both our products and processes

Ideally, you’ll be a hands-on product-obsessed engineer with experience in a fast-growing start-up, and a strong interest in eCommerce, marketplace platforms, B2B2C and/or fashion.

But most of all, you’ll need tohave a strong desire to create something of value for the world and have the tenacity to make it happen.

The successful candidate

Our new software engineer will be:

  • Full-stack, proficient in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. You’ll have the opportunity to grow our technology stack as the product develops.
  • Aligned with our vision of how big this thing can be.
  • Customer centric with a flare for creating beautiful software.
  • Passionate about executing on ideas with impact.
  • Obsessive about discovering and understanding customer needs and problems.

We value simple, clean-code that solves the problem without introducing incidental complexity. We constantly refactor our code, use good judgement and evolve our processes so that we can move fast. We are constantly learning about our domain, our users and merchants.

Why should you join?

  • Work flexibly and remotely from anywhere!
  • Part of our founding team — You’ll be a pivotal part of building a high-growth startup. 👊
  • Get serious equity — With a team of one we were valued at $5mil — we want to provide our early team members with generous equity! 💸
  • Work in unchartered territory — We are disrupting the recommerce space and plan to take over the likes of eBay. 💪
  • Make an impact — each year 90 million tonnes of fashion textiles head straight to landfill — you’ll be changing this! 🌏

If you’re ready to kick-off your next adventure and lead the future of re-commerce, we want to hear from you!

Above all, we value go-getters with a passion for working in a startup environment. So if you don’t quite meet the requirements but you’re a super learner who believes in our mission we still want to hear from you!

We are recruiting for two Product Engineers. Please apply for the relevant role via LinkedIn:

  1. Front-end focused Product Engineer.
  2. Full-stack Product Engineer.
